Artist Statement

As a Twin Cities oboist and multifaceted artist, I am in constant amazement of the sights and sounds in our natural surroundings. I paint the essence of Minnesota nature throughout the seasons in the form of vividly colored landscapes, birds, insects, and botanical gouache paintings on watercolor paper. In my free time I hike in the woods and observe plants and wildlife as inspiration for my visual art. I adorn my finished paintings with metallic gold paint to create movement and iridescence.
